Community
The school community
The curriculum is enriched by providing extra curricular activities such as Swimming, Football, Netball, Cricket, Orienteering, Choir, Safer Cycling and Music. A wide range of visits and visitors further enhances the curriculum and extends pupils' learning. Visits are made to places of local and national interest such as: the parish church, other local schools, heritage properties, Cambridge and London.
The school has strong links with the local community, which provides speakers and leaders for the assembly and Collective Worship, and with members of the wider community, the police, nurses and other specialists who come and visit.
An annual residential visit by year 6 pupils helps to promote cultural, social and adventure education.
The school works closely with the village pre-school, and the other four local primary schools, which feed into the local secondary school, Bassingbourn Village College. This ensures that pupils' transition from one stage of their education to another is smooth and effective.
The school is part of the Comberton, Bassingbourn, Melbourn and Gamlingay (CABMAG) cluster for Extended Schools. The current focus is on Healthy Lifestyles. We are also part of the of the School Sports Co-ordinator Partnership.
Out Of Space Club
The Out Of Space Club provides reasonably priced childcare before and after school in term time, from 8am to 6pm, on the school premises. It is run by an independent committee, with paid staff. The club offers a variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities throughout the year and also runs holiday sessions.

The school council meets regularly, under the guidance of a teaching assistant, and is involved in the working of the school. Each class has 2 elected representatives who report back to their classes.
